The objectives, priorities and challenges of the National eHealth Authority (NHEA) were discussed by the new Board of Directors at a meeting held on Monday, 9 December 2024. During the session, the mission of the EHRC to promote the use of information and communication technologies, prevent diseases and provide quality health services to every citizen was reaffirmed. The National e-Health Authority has achieved significant progress in the implementation of the Electronic Health Record, the regulation of medical information, cross-border healthcare and the need to promote telemedicine. Early next year, the launch of the Electronic Cross-border Health Services in Cyprus is also expected, which will allow European citizens to be able to continue their care while travelling to another country within the EU. In addition to this service, the Board at the meeting set as a priority the offering of other services to citizens/patients in the near future. The new Board was appointed by the Council of Ministers at its meeting on 6 November 2024, following a recommendation by the Minister of Health, Mr. Michael Damianos.
